My Commitment

“I believe that our world needs outstanding clinicians and leaders who are able to thrive in complexity and chaos, bring clarity and compassion to those they serve, and take care of themselves in order to enable their own best work. I promise to get to the heart of what you need to flourish in your career and leadership role – I’ve been in your shoes and will walk alongside you every step of the way.”

Dr Fiona Day

My career as a Doctor and Public Health Specialist

25 years in medical and system level leadership roles

I qualified as a doctor in 1996 at Edinburgh University, also with a first class intercalated honours degree in psychology. After several years as a junior doctor in hospital, General Practice, and community health settings, I chose to focus my career on the prevention of illness and improving health, becoming a Consultant in Public Health Medicine in 2009. For the next ten years, I worked in citywide, regional, Board and system-level roles as a Public Health Consultant, leading large programmes to improve the health of whole populations, multidisciplinary teams through change, and also coaching, mentoring, developing my staff and colleagues - in order to innovate and improve a wide range of health, care and public services, and to improve staff health and wellbeing.

My career as an Executive, Leadership and Career Coach and Coaching Psychologist

Independently accredited 'Master Practitioner' by the European Mentoring and Coaching Council

I established 'Fiona Day Consulting' in 2016 and this has been my main career since 2017. I've worked with over 350 doctors and public health professionals in the UK and on all five continents to improve all aspects of their leadership, careers and wellbeing.
